You don’t have to be a weightlifter to benefit from strength training. In fact, many studies show that even average people should incorporate strength training into their regular workout routine. Regular strength training is credited with helping even average people maintain healthy bones, prevent injuries, speed up their metabolism, and just look healthy.

I presently live in Fountain Hills, AZ. a Beautiful Community surrounded by Mountains and golf courses, 20 minutes North East of Phoenix.

I am a Country Girl by every definition of the word.I was Born on 06/15/** (a mature woman never discloses her age) in Caribou Maine. Caribou is a small city in the Northern Most regions of Maine, often the coldest record breaking temperatures in the USA.

I was always very active as a child to say the least. Being a tom boy, I Played the Drums all through school and hung out with the guys most of the time. I preferred to play sports with the boys as well , the girls were just not in my league of natural athletic abilities. My Favored sports were Basketball, Baseball, and Track.

Danielle says “So now after five years of competitions I have moved up the ranks and I placed in the top five at several national level shows in 2006. My BIG goal for 2007 is to get my IFBB professional status in figure and then I would like to compete in the Figure Olympia in the same year. My short-term career goals include to headline my own NPC or IFBB show, opening and managing my own supplement store (with the help of my sponsors), and eventually I would like to have my own gym with a dance studio inside and to !! I know that my dreams will come true very soon, I am thankful for the support of those who help me. I am also so grateful for the constant support from my sponsors, for believing in me and giving me the freedom to train and focus on my career goals, and allowing me the opportunity to be part of a great winning team.”

Tara says “I was so excited for the Nationals, because it was the first ever Figure Nationals. I felt I was on point with my training and diet and was very happy with my physique. I was confident that I was doing very well that night. After pre-judging, I got a lot of positive feedback. And not just from my friends and family.

When I was called for 4th place, I was very disappointed. I was more upset because when I asked why I took 4th, I was told I was a little too “hard”, but the girl who took 1st in the short class was very hard herself, so I was upset at the inconsistency of the judging.”

My name is Colette and I grew up in Royal Oak, Michigan, a small suburb outside of Detroit and attended Michigan State University (MSU), where I received a bachelor’s degree in Dietetics and a minor in Dance. While at MSU, I started to develop a passion for weight training. Before I started weight training, I looked like your typical 5’5”, 120 pound aerobic instructor / modern dancer. I had a decent shape, but I was skinny. I taught a lot of aerobics classes while attending MSU, and at that time it was “COOL” to see how many aerobics classes you could do in a row. I remember a time when I used to teach 20 + aerobics classes a week. Talk about a way to burn muscle!

I was lucky enough to have a former top strongman, Tom Magee, as my coach, and through his recommendation, and the recommendation of my good friend Olympic athlete Gea Johnson, I was able to secure one of the two positions given to the US, against 12 other US girls! The power lifting I’ve done for my own satisfaction in the gym for the past 6 years led me to being a contender!I feel that fans of the Strongman competitions will NOT be disappointed by the WSW 2001. We were a very well matched group, and the competitions were fierce! I also hope that everyone will enjoy watching my big victory in the car squat competition, where I completed 15 reps within our 1 minute time limit! I nearly doubled the reps of the girl who took second place – I was in the middle of rep 16 when the whistle blew…

The summer before I left for college, getting in better shape and going to the gym almost became an obsession. I started reading all the top fitness and bodybuilding magazines and began to follow all the top professionals of the sport. I even went to a Fitness expedition and bodybuilding show with a few friends from the gym and met a lot of the pro bodybuilders and fitness girls. I got to speak with some of them at their booths, and even got to take tons of pictures with them, which to me at the age of 17 was a huge deal….heck, before that day, I only got to read articles about them in magazines. That was the day I realized this was something I wanted to do myself.

Bodybuilding has become a very popular sport over the past few decades. A bodybuilder trains with heavy weights to increase strength and to build large muscles for posing competitions or cosmetic purposes. While some body builders do so for competition purposes, still others simply like the look they can create for their own motivation.

Bodybuilders also learn how to perform poses that accentuate the display of different muscle groups for purposes of being rated by competition judges.

Various training methods are used by bodybuilders to get results, including training techniques like Positions of Flexion (POF), Static Contraction Training (SCT), High Intensity Training (HIT), Superslow Training, Hyper Contraction and Plyometrics.

I’m currently a pharmacy student at Ball State University. I already have a bachelor degree in Dietetics. I have been lifting twelve years, competing for 8 years. During those years I competed in bodybuilding off and on for five years and figure for 3 years.

Fitness Model, Competitor
Figure is much more suitable for me since I have a natural physique with lots of soft feminine curves. In my heart, natural, healthy feminine muscles is what female bodybuilding and fitness should be about.
